About
My name is Rula Aljumaili, and I am an alumna of Carleton’s School of Industrial Design.
I was first pulled into the world of design after seeing Es Devlin's set design for concerts. Since then, I've gained an interest in spatial and experiential design. I'm passionate about transforming spaces into dynamic places of joy.
I value design as a powerful tool for fostering human connection, guided by the principles of placemaking. I see importance in engaging with communities and the people around us to create meaningful designs.
Ultimately, I believe we, designers, should always strive to co-design, empathize with others, and foster rich experiences to translate the authenticity and beauty of being human.
As a Third Culture Kid, I find inspiration when travelling and exploring new cultures. Outside of design, I enjoy running and a good salsa social.
